da Vinci Robotic Surgery

da Vinci Robotic Surgery

At Maitri, we are now pleased to offer state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery for gynecologic problems with the da Vinci robotic system. In the past, women requiring hysterectomy received large incisions. These incisions are more painful, and require a longer recovery time. Hysterectomy is now often performed laparoscopically, which allows the surgeon to operate through 1-2 cm incisions, minimizing post-operative pain. However, laparoscopy allows only two dimensional vision, and sometimes it can be difficult to maneuver to perform the surgery, particularly for more complicated surgeries.

Dr. Rosa Mojdehi and Dr. Jennie Lowell are performing da Vinci robotic surgeries which allow:

  • Three dimensional visualization of internal structures
  • Increased range of motion using articulating arms of the instrument
  • Three surgical operating arms

For a woman undergoing hysterectomy, this means:

  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Less pain, scarring, and infections
  • Less blood loss and faster recovery

The daVinci system allows for minimally invasive procedures in more complex surgical cases. It can shorten recovery time and decrease blood loss, all of which improve healing time. Our goal is to help women recover as quickly as possible from medical conditions affecting their health.
